In this photo series, I documented three artisans working at the University of Michigan theatrical shops. As a prop fabricator myself, I always enjoy the sensory and meditative process of handcrafting. These people take care of the production of 9 fully-staged shows every year, however, their backstage work is less known. My photography seeks to bring their craftmanship into the spotlight and reconnect people with the materiality, creativity, and multi-sensory process of making.
